SERRETTE vs VOISIN - Former athletes clash for NAAA presidency

Kwame Laurence :: Trinidad Express :: 24.11.2016

Ephraim Serrette made his name in the sprints in the 1970s and 80s. For Paul Voisin, glory came in the distance events, the highpoint of his career being victory in the 1990 T&T Marathon.

The sprinter and the distance runner will clash tomorrow, not on the track but at the Radisson Hotel in Port of Spain, the former athletes squaring off for presidency of the National Association of Athletics Administrations (NAAA). The annual general meeting (AGM) starts at 2pm, and the winner of the presidential showdown will be at the helm of local athletics until 2020.

Serrette is the incumbent, having served as NAAA president since 2006, while Voisin is currently the fourth vice president. Today, the presidential candidates share their respective four-year visions for athletics in Trinidad and Tobago.
