Bolt to concentrate solely on 100m in final season of illustrious careerTrinidad Express :: 03.01.2017Usain Bolt plans to concentrate on the 100 metres in 2017, which will be his final season in a glorious athletics career. Bolt told Sky Sports News HQ last month that his final competitive race will be in London next summer before walking away from the sport he has dominated like no other in its history. Bolt also said earlier this year that he was planning to pursue a late career in professional football after he retires from track and field. "Right now, it's my last season and I have to just go out there and enjoy it," the Jamaican told his home nation's newspaper The Gleaner. "I think we have done the bulk of the work over the 10 years we have been working, so now it's my last season. The focus is on the 100m, and I will just be trying to enjoy the season, not too much stress. "It's all about my fans. I think they always show me a lot of love, and I am just going to go out there for them and do my best as always." The 30-year-old Bolt dominated the sprint events over an unprecedented decade in the sport, winning the 100 metres, 200 metres and 4x100 metre relay at three consecutive Olympic Games. He is also the record holder in the 100 metres (9.58sec) and 200 metres (19.19), and has won 11 world titles. Bolt says he plans to keep busy in 2017 and compete in plenty of track meets.
