Already the fastest man in the world this year in the indoor 200 metres event, Alabama University's Jereem Richards produced an impressive 46.37 seconds run to top the 400m field at the Bob Pollock Invite in South Carolina, USA, on Friday.

The clocking is a new indoor best for the Trinidad and Tobago athlete as well as a Clemson University Indoor Complex record. Richards is second on the 2017 world indoor 400m performance list with his 46.37 run. The top spot belongs to American My'Lik Kerley (46.31). Last weekend, Richards clocked a personal best 20.57 to go to the top of the global 200m indoor list.

Another T&T/Alabama athlete, Ruebin Walters emerged victorious on his school debut, winning the men's 60m hurdles final in 7.83 seconds. He had clocked 7.90 in the heats. And Domonique Williams got to the line in 54.17 seconds to triumph in the women's 400m.
