Trinidad and Tobago's Emmanuel Callender was in fine form at the Camperdown Classics outdoor meet, in Kingston, Jamaica, on Saturday. The double Olympic sprint relay medallist clocked a personal best 46.85 seconds to finish third in his section and fifth overall in the men's 400 metres.

In Virginia, USA, yesterday, Marissa Gale finished just off the podium in two Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Indoor Championship events. The St Augustine's University student got home in 24.55 seconds for fourth spot in the women's 200m finals, missing out on bronze by three-hundredths of a second. She had clocked 24.72 in the preliminaries.

Gale was also fourth in the 400m finals, the 23-year-old T&T athlete getting to the line in 57.32 seconds. Gale had produced a better run in the qualifying round, her 56.47 clocking seeing her through to the finals second fastest.
