Loving the T&T Marathon - 'Runner’s World’ editor keen to returnKwame Laurence :: Trinidad Express :: 15.02.2017Sofia Hedstrom is an editor with the popular Runner's World magazine. The 38-year-old Swede is also a marathon runner, and competes in a few 26.2-mile races each year. Last month, she ran for the very first time in the Trinidad and Tobago International Marathon (TTIM), making the long trek from Freeport in central Trinidad to the Queen's Park Savannah in Port of Spain. "Usually I cover around three marathons a year," Hedstrom told the Express. "I go somewhere, experience the race, run it, and then I write the story about it. This will definitely be a really, really good story." The Scandinavian journalist said she was spurred on by the spectators that lined the course. "I was very happy with the crowd. Everyone was super-encouraging. I've run New York Marathon many times and that's supposed to be the best crowd in the world, but this is definitely up there. "It was very, very, very hot," she continued. Become a subscriber to the Trinidad Express Newspapers for access to all our articles via our e-paper. |
