Callender wins in Jamaica

Emmanuel Callender was among the winners at the University of the West Indies (UWI) Track and Field Invitational in Kingston, Jamaica, on Saturday. The Trinidad and Tobago sprinter stopped the clock at 10.28 seconds to grab men's 100 metres gold. Another T&T athlete, Jonathan Farinha was 18th overall in 10.56.

Kern Alexis got home in 53.83 seconds for fourth spot in the men's 400m hurdles. And Farinha's twin brother, Nathan Farinha finished fifth in his section and 12th overall in the men's 200m in 21.50.

At the Weems Baskins Invitational in South Carolina, USA, Zakiya Denoon clocked a wind-assisted 11.48 seconds to strike gold in the women's 100m dash. The Monroe College student was third in the 200m in a windy 23.45, while Coppin State University sophomore Khemani Roberts was 37th overall in 25.15.
