Parris, Warren strike ‘Glendale’ gold

Jeminise Parris earned two golds and a silver at the Arizona Community College Athletic Conference (ACCAC) Glendale meet in Arizona, USA, on Saturday.

Parris won her pet event, the women's 100 metres hurdles in 14.31 seconds. The Central Arizona College freshman was also victorious in the 400m hurdles, getting home in one minute, 02.22 seconds. And Parris clocked 12.19 to secure second spot in the 100m dash.

Another Trinidad and Tobago/Central Arizona athlete, Portious Warren threw 15.83 metres to strike gold in the women's shot put. She seized silver in the discus with a 41.52m effort. A 34.48m throw earned the 21-year-old student javelin bronze. And in the hammer throw, Warren was fifth at 43.80m.

Kevin Roberts notched a jump double at the Otterbein April Fool's Invitational, in Ohio. The Tiffin University junior disturbed the sand at 6.90m for top spot in the men's long jump. And in the triple jump, Roberts grabbed gold with a 14.73m effort.

At the Tiger Twilight meet, in Georgia, Odou Hazel emerged victorious in the men's 400m event. The Claflin University senior clocked 47.97 seconds.

In Kansas, Butler Community College sophomore Jamoul Pierre produced a 49.05 run to grab gold in the Cowley Tiger Invite men's 400m. 

At the Southern Miss Invitational, in Mississippi, Coahoma Community College sprinter Ian Thomas claimed men's 100m silver in 10.61 seconds. Thomas was eighth overall in the 200m in 21.54. Louisiana Tech University's Elia Nero produced a 4:47.36 run to finish fourth in the women's 1,500m.

In Kansas, Shania Alexander bagged double bronze at the Emporia State University (ESU) Relays. 

The Neosho County Community College student finished third in the women's 100m dash in 12.28 seconds. In the 200m, Alexander clocked 25.25 to cross the line third.

And in New Mexico, Adams State University sprinter Micah Ballantyne clocked 11.40 seconds for fifth spot in the Don Kirby Tailwind Invitational men's 100m dash.
