Fast and windy 100 for BaptisteWilliams clocks 400 bestKwame Laurence :: Trinidad Express :: 20.04.2017Kelly-Ann Baptiste was victorious at the NTC/Pure Athletics Spring Invitational in Florida, USA, last Saturday. The Trinidad and Tobago sprinter topped a women's 100 metres race in a wind-assisted 10.94 seconds. The following wind was 4.1 metres per second—well above the 2.0 legal limit. With a 5.2 wind at his back, Keston Bledman won a men's 100m event in 10.08 seconds. Kyle Greaux and Jovon Toppin also benefited from illegal following winds. Greaux finished fourth in a men's 200m race in 20.52, while Toppin was fourth in another men's 200m event in 21.97. At the Jim Bush Collegiate Invitational, in California, University of Alabama student Domonique Williams clocked a personal best 52.41 seconds to finish second in the women's 400m. University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) quarter-miler Asa Guevara was second in the men's 400m "B" race in 47.44, and Texas A&M University's Infinite Tucker finished third in the men's 110m hurdles and 400m hurdles events, clocking 14.37 and 54.37. In Kansas, Tonya Nero seized silver in the KT Woodman Classic women's 5,000m event in 16 minutes, 53.36 seconds. Butler Community College sophomore Jamoul Pierre was second in the men's 200m "B" race in a windy 21.26 seconds.
