T&T 4th in 4x4, 4x2

5th on team standings at World Relay

Jereem Richards was brilliant on the second leg for Trinidad and Tobago in the IAAF World Relays men's 4x400 metres final, in Nassau, Bahamas, on Sunday night. But his teammates, Jarrin Solomon and Lalonde Gordon were unable to take advantage of the good work, and T&T had to settle for fourth spot in three minutes, 03.17 seconds.

Renny Quow was solid on the leadoff leg for T&T. It was Richards, though, who put the team in the hunt for gold, moving from fourth to second. Though Solomon slipped back to fourth, he kept T&T within striking distance at the changeover. Gordon, however, did not have the legs to challenge the top three.

LaShawn Merritt anchored United States to gold in 3:02.13, holding off a valiant Botswana, the silver medallists in 3:02.28. Jamaica clocked 3:02.86 to bag bronze.

The T&T combination of Moriba Morain, Dan-Neil Telesford, Kyle Greaux and Emmanuel Callender finished fourth in the men's 4x200m final in a national record time of 1:21.39, bettering the 1:22.79 standard they had established in securing third spot in the first qualifying heat.
