Another Worlds shot for 4x1 women

NGC, Sagicor inject $250k each into Open Champs

Trinidad and Tobago's sprint relay women will have another shot at World Championship qualification at the June 23-25 NGC/Sagicor National Open Track and Field Championships.

At yesterday's National Association of Athletics Administrations Championship Month launch at the Radisson Hotel in Port of Spain, NAAA secretary Dexter Voisin said other countries will be invited to run against T&T in the women's 4x100 metres event.

"We'll send out the correspondence to the region, and then wait to see who will take up the offer. At this stage, it's not about having a strong field. It's about our girls running and qualifying. According to IAAF rules, if you have two countries or more, it's a legitimate event."
