Williams snares SEC 400 silverKwame Laurence :: Trinidad Express :: 13.05.2017Trinidad and Tobago's Domonique Williams snatched silver in the women's 400 metres at the Southeastern Conference (SEC) Outdoor Track and Field Championships in South Carolina, USA, yesterday. The University of Alabama senior completed her lap of the track in 52.54 seconds. On Friday, Williams was third in heat five in 53.05, progressing to the championship race as a "fastest loser". American Daina Harper, a student at University of Arkansas, struck gold in 52.16 seconds, with bronze going to another American, University of Florida's Sharrika Barnett (52.55). T&T/Alabama athlete, Jereem Richards bagged bronze in the men's 200m in a personal best 20.22 seconds. Tennessee's Christian Coleman won in 19.98 to complete the sprint double. Earlier, the American topped the 100m final in 9.97. Great Britain's Nethaneel Mitchell-Blake was second in the 100m and 200m events, the Louisiana State University (LSU) sprinter clocking 9.99 and 20.09.
