Horsford in England for javelin training

Trinidad Express :: 26.05.2017

TYRIQ HORSFORD, three time CARIFTA gold medallist and record holder in the boys Under-18 javelin throw, will attend the Loughborough University's annual Sport Development: Javelin Training Camp, scheduled for May 28 to 29 in England.

This event will be used for tracking his personal progress as he prepares for the Commonwealth Youth Championships, scheduled for July 19-23, 2017 in the Bahamas. Coach Parker of Loughborough has indicated keen interest in working with Horsford and his accompanying coach, Wade Franklyn.

The camp is supported by British Athletics, with a series of workshops and a competition component. This year's camp will be the sixth edition of the event which also caters for disabled athletes.

Javelins will be presented to the winners of the competitions and Horsford is a favorite for his age group.
