Morain grabs NAIA sprint double

Elcock, St Clair win at Atlanta Georgia Relays

Moriba Morain captured the men's sprint double at the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Alabama, USA, on Saturday.

Morain retained his 100 metres title with a wind-assisted 10.14 seconds run. The Wiley College sprinter added the 200m title to his NAIA accolades, getting home in a windy 20.32. Morain progressed to the final thanks to a 20.82 victory in his qualifying round heat.

Another Trinidad and Tobago/Wiley athlete, Quinn-Lee Ralph finished eighth in the 100m final in 11.76 seconds and seventh in the 200m final in 39.20. In the 100m preliminaries, Ralph clocked 10.34. And in the 200m prelims, he got to the line in 21.18. Jesse Berkley and Machael Mark, also Wiley students, were 30th and 35th, respectively, in the 100m, clocking 10.76 and 10.86.
