Cain golden at US Para Champs - UK wins for Richards, HorsfordKwame Laurence :: Trinidad Express :: 04.06.2017Nyoshia Cain struck gold in the women's 200 metres T43/44 event at the United States Paralympics Track and Field National Championships in California, USA, on Friday. The Trinidad and Tobago sprinter got to the line in 28.22 seconds. Cain also competed in the long jump, earning bronze with a 3.73 metres leap. She was back in action after press time last night, in the 100m dash. Che Richards was in winners' row at the British Athletics League Premiership Division meet, in London, England, yesterday. The T&T athlete disturbed the sand at 7.63m to grab gold in the men's long jump for his British club, Woodford Green. Richards, a student at the University of Edinburgh in Scotland, also had a 7.61m leap in the competition. T&T's Tyriq Horsford was golden in England on Monday, at the United Kingdom Javelin Carnival. The three-time Carifta Games champion produced a big 73.85 metres throw for top spot in the boys' under-18 javelin. At Friday's Nordic Challenge, in Denmark, Jarrin Solomon clocked 46.39 seconds to seize men's 400m silver.
