Weekes ends Carifin unbeaten

Deonanan, Regis, Harrikissoon take other titles

Trinidad Express :: 04.06.2017

KRIS Deonanan and Christine Regis were crowned the 2017 Carifin Games' Best Overall Male and Female runners, respectively, after winning their divisions in the season-ending Cross-Country Run on the Sevilla Golf Course in Caroni last weekend.

And while much attention fell on the two victorious runners, Tessa Weekes basked in the glory of being the only athlete to have competed unbeaten in her category throughout the series of events for fitness enthusiasts employed in the country's financial sector, sweeping all four female race-walking events.

In the season-ending finale, runners from ten financial institutions took off in late afternoon to contest the cross-country run.
