Trinidad and Tobago quarter-miler Domonique Williams bowed out of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division 1 Outdoor Track and Field Championship women's 400 metre event in the semi-final round, in Eugene, Oregon, USA, on Thursday night.

Williams returned a time of 52.50 seconds to finish fifth in heat one and 11th overall. Winner of that heat Jamaican Chrisann Gordon clocked a personal-best 50.39 to lead all qualifiers into the eight-woman final.

Williams was also eliminated in the 4x400m relay. She produced a solid 51.89 second anchor-leg split in heat three, but it was not enough to propel University of Alabama to a top-two finish and an automatic berth in tonight's championship race. Alabama finished fourth in three minutes, 33.57 seconds.

Another T&T athlete, Kayelle Clarke, ran the third leg for University of Kentucky in heat one. Kentucky finished seventh in that race and 21st overall in 3:40.20, and were also eliminated.
