LEBRON, BASCOMBE GOLDENT&T capture NACAC Age Group team titleKwame Laurence :: Trinidad Express :: 18.06.2017Lebron James and Shaniqua Bascombe were golden for Trinidad and Tobago at the NLCB North American, Central American and Caribbean (NACAC) Age Group Championships, at the Hasely Crawford Stadium in Port of Spain, yesterday. James struck gold in the boys' 11-12 pentathlon, the T&T athlete with the superstar name accumulating 3,143 points in the five-discipline event. A solid three minutes, 10.94 seconds run in the 1,000 metres saw James move from second to first, leading a one-two finish for the host nation. Dorian Charles clocked 3:06.62 to top the 1,000m field, jumping from fifth straight into the silver medal position, the T&T athlete ending with 3,096 points. Bermuda's Anaya West (3,058) bagged bronze, while T&T's exhibition athlete Keone John (2,956) finished sixth. Bascombe was a runaway winner of the girls' 13-14 heptathlon.
