CAIN REPEATSAnother Para Worlds bronze for T&T sprinterKwame Laurence :: Trinidad Express :: 17.07.2017Nyoshia Cain repeated her women's 100 metres T44 podium success at the 2017 World Para Athletics Championships in London, England, yesterday. Third in the 2015 final in Qatar, Cain bagged bronze again at the London Worlds, the Trinidad and Tobago sprinter getting to the line in 13.25 seconds. Sophie Kamlish was in dominant mood, the British athlete securing gold in a very fast 12.92 seconds. Marlou van Rhijn of the Netherlands clocked 13.20 to grab silver from Cain's grasp. Cain enjoyed a good start, but by the halfway mark Kamlish had stamped her authority on the race, pulling away from the field. Cain looked a good bet for silver. Van Rhijn, however, had other ideas, the fast-finishing Dutchwoman overhauling her T&T rival a few metres from the finish line.
