Horsford rounds off T&T Nassau campaign

TYRIQ HORSFORD picked up Trinidad and Tobago's fifth and final medal as the Commonwealth Youth Games(CYG) ended yesterday in Nassau, the Bahamas, lifting the national team to 13th spot in the final standings. 

Competing in the Boys' Javelin final yesterday, Carifta games champion Horsford produced a best throw of 69.43 metres to take silver. he finished in-between two Australians as Janse Van Rensburg (74.19) and Oscar Sullivan (66.23) took the gold and bronze, respectively.

The result left Team TTO with its best-ever medal haul in the 17-year history of the CYG. Fielding its largest-ever team of 50 athletes—27 female and 23 male —T&T ended the competition with two gold, two silver and one bronze.
