Jereem Richards and Machel Cedenio recorded impressive one-lap victories on Saturday, the Trinidad and Tobago athletes giving themselves timely confidence-boosters ahead of next month's IAAF World Championships in London, England.

Cedenio was a non-finisher in the men's 400m event in Lausanne, Switzerland on July 6, an upset stomach forcing him to abort the race. But the national champion put that episode behind him at the KBC Night of Athletics meet in Belgium, on Saturday, winning the 400 in 45.56 seconds. Another T&T athlete, Kyle Greaux was second in the men's 200m in 20.62.

Richards was on fire in the Bahamas, topping the Blue Marlin Track & Field Classic men's 400m field in a personal best 45.21 seconds. His T&T teammate, Jarrin Solomon was second in another men's 400m race in 45.87.
