Lalonde ‘Trini to d bone’Michelle Loubon: Trinidad Express :: 17.08.2017"I screamed so hard. I could not believe it. I am overwhelmed. I am numb. But I had a suspicion something would happen. I would text and tell Lalonde he would be getting the gold. There are no words to express how happy I am. I am so proud." That was the reaction of Queen's, New York-based Cynthia Cupid to her son Lalonde Gordon's feat on Sunday, anchoring the Trinidad and Tobago team to gold in the men's 4x400 metre relay final at the IAAF World Championships in London, England. Gordon ran the final leg behind the efforts of Jarrin Solomon, Jereem Richards and Machel Cedenio before overtaking American Fred Kerley in the final metres to take gold in the closing event of the Championships.
