VOISIN'S VISION

1990 T&T Marathon champ establishes Redline International Training Camp

Kwame Laurence :: Trinidad Express :: 20.09.2017

PAUL VOISIN has a plan to take road running in Trinidad and Tobago to a brand new level. The 1990 T&T Marathon champion has long since retired, but still has a passion for running and a burning desire to see improvement here in T&T.

Voisin is now a coach, and has established the Redline International Middle and Long-Distance Training Camp. Still in its fledgling stage, Redline International has two Kenyan athletes on board—Kenneth Rotich and Mercy Chepwogen. On Sunday, the training camp swept the top prizes in the Venture Credit Union Cooperative Society 5K, in Couva, Rotich winning the men's race in 14 minutes, 39 seconds and Chepwogen topping the women's field in 16:59.

In an Express interview, Voisin explained the thinking behind Redline International.

"I'm going to be bringing in a lot of international athletes to train among the locals to help develop them.
