No word on 4x4 gold reward, says national awardee Solomon

Jarrin Solomon is honoured to be the recipient of Trinidad and Tobago's second highest award, Chaconia Gold.

Solomon ran the leadoff leg in the country's men's 4x400 metres triumph at the IAAF World Championships in London, England, last month.

In recognition of the achievement, Solomon and his teammates, 200m bronze medallist Jereem "The Dream" Richards, Machel Cedenio and Lalonde Gordon, as well as Renny Quow, who ran in the qualifying round, were on the 2017 Republic Day national awards list.

"It feels great and is an honour to be presented with the Chaconia Gold medal for our 4x4 performance," Solomon told the Express. "I always enjoy representing our country, and my goal is to bring positive publicity and recognition to Trinidad and Tobago whenever possible. Our World Championship performance in London helped do that so it is an honour to get this award."

Solomon, however, was not at the National Academy for the Performing Arts (NAPA) on Sunday to receive his Chaconia Gold.
