Nero gets good return from US training stint

TONYA NERO is back home from a training stint in Wichita, Kansas, USA, and confident of producing the type of performances that earned her multiple national records in 2011/2012.

"Yes," the 28-year-old runner declared, "I am back to that form."

Soon after returning home from seven-and-a-half months of training in the United States, Nero was on the road on October 8, competing in the RBC Race for the Kids 15K. The Maracas Valley athlete was in dominant mood, winning the women's race in 52 minutes, 19 seconds for a huge cushion on Kenyan Mercy Chebwogen, the runner-up in 55:55. Samantha Shukla was third among the women in one hour and three minutes.
