Shukla repeats at Cross Country Champs - Baboolal too strong in men’s 8K

Samantha Shukla retained her National Cross Country Championship women's title at the Queen's Park Savannah in Port of Spain, yesterday. Shukla won the women's six-kilometre race in 23 minutes, 41 seconds, the Richard Jones Racing (RJR) runner finishing well ahead of her teammate Sjaelan Evans, the runner-up in 25:55.

The men's 8K was far more competitive. Shirvan Baboolal emerged victorious in 27:31, the RJR athlete taking the title ahead of Defence Force's George Smith, who finished second in 27:37, and Guyanese Kelvin Johnson (28:03).
