Lalonde tops New York 400Kwame Laurence :: Trinidad Express :: 02.02.2018Lalonde Gordon stamped his class on proceedings at the Dr Sander Invitational/Columbia Challenge indoor meet in New York, USA, last Saturday, with victory in the men's 400 metres event. The Trinidad and Tobago quartermiler clocked 47.07 seconds in his first 400m race for the year to finish ahead of Americans Izaiah Brown (47.37) and TJ Holmes (47.41). Gordon opened his 2018 campaign on January 19 with 200m gold at the NYC Gotham Cup, in New York. He clocked 21.26 seconds. The 2017 IAAF World Championship 4x400m gold medallist is expected to represent T&T at the March 1-4 IAAF World Indoor Championships in Birmingham, England and the April 4-15 Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast, Australia.
