JEREEM TARGETS TEN Greaux, Hackett, McKnight also in medal hunt
Kwame Laurence :: Trinidad Express :: 11.04.2018Trinidad and Tobago's Commonwealth Games all-time gold medal tally could hit double figures at the end of the men's 200 metres final, at the Carrara Stadium here in Gold Coast, Australia, this morning (TT time). At 7.56 a.m., Jereem "The Dream" Richards will do battle out of lane four in the half-lap championship race, and looks certain to be in contention for the top spot on the podium.
In yesterday's semi-final round, Richards coasted to victory in heat three in 20.41 seconds. Leon Reid was a well-beaten second, the Englishman clocking 20.61. About 30 metres from the line, Richards looked to his left and right. Assured there would be no challenger for the win, the 2017 IAAF World Championship bronze medallist shut down his effort, conserving gas for today's title bid.
