BOREL MISSES HISTORYKwame Laurence :: Trinidad Express :: 14.04.2018Cleopatra Borel came agonisingly close to completing another chapter of Commonwealth Games history in Gold Coast, Australia, yesterday. Joint-first with Edwin Roberts on the list of Trinidad and Tobago's multiple individual Commonwealth Games medallists with three items of precious metal each, Borel looked on course to secure number four in the Gold Coast 2018 women's shot put final. For five rounds, Borel was in the bronze position, the best of her first five throws, 18.00 metres, coming in round four. The medal was within her grasp. Brittany Crew, however, had other ideas. Saving her best for last, Crew went over 18 metres for the only time in the competition in the sixth and final round, the Canadian landing the shot 18.32m.
