Guevara, Tucker, St Hillaire shine in USA

Asa Guevara, Infinite Tucker and Dwight St Hillaire were impressive over one lap at collegiate conference championship meets in the United States, on Sunday.

In Texas, Guevara clocked a personal best 45.26 seconds to strike gold in the men's 400 metres. The University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) senior finished fourth in the 200m final in 20.97. He was faster in the qualifying round, getting to the line in 20.82.

Florida International University (FIU) freshman Asha James threw a lifetime best 47.34m to secure silver in the women's javelin. There was a personal record (PR) too for Elia Nero in the women's 800m, the Louisiana Tech University junior returning a time of two minutes, 10.08 seconds to bag bronze.
