Borel bags silver in Cuba

Cleopatra Borel earned silver in the women's shot put at the Prueba de Confrontacion meet in Havana, Cuba, last Saturday. The Trinidad and Tobago field athlete threw 17.54 metres.

Cuba's Yaniuvis Lopez emerged victorious with an 18.25m effort. Third spot, meanwhile, went to another Cuban, Dianelis Delis (15.30m).Borel opened the competition at 17.33m, and followed up with the 17.54m throw. The 39-year-old field athlete produced 17.25m and 17.52m efforts in the next two rounds. She then fouled her fifth attempt, before closing at 16.98m.
