De Gannes wins three at Juvenile Champs

Janae De Gannes emerged as the standout performer on the opening day of the NGC/NAAA National Juvenile Track and Field Championships at the Hasely Crawford Stadium in Port of Spain, yesterday, the Zenith Tobago athlete capturing three individual gold medals.

Janika Jordan also left the venue with three golds, thanks to victories in the girls' under-13 400 metres and shot put events, and her second-leg effort for the triumphant Cougars in the mixed under-13 4x100m relay. A fourth gold seemed on the cards for Jordan, but she was disqualified for a false start in the 100m dash, clearing the way for a De Gannes triumph in 12.74 seconds.
