Brooks clocks fast 800 in Ireland

ALENA BROOKS produced one of the best runs of her career at the Morton Games in Dublin, Ireland, yesterday. The Trinidad and Tobago halfmiler returned a time of two minutes, 02.32 seconds to finish third in the women's 800 metres event. The clocking was the second fastest time ever run by Brooks at her pet distance.

American Hannah Green topped the field in 2:01.66. Ciara Mageean, meanwhile, secured second spot, the Irish runner getting home just ahead of Brooks, in 2:02.13.
