Cherishing the golden years

"Gold" and its derivative "golden" must be the most frequently used words in the sports pages these days. So many headlines over the last month or so have had those words in them, repeated countless times in stories detailing the feats of Trinidad and Tobago athletes at the Central American and Caribbean (CAC) Games, and more recently,

the North American, Central American and Caribbean (NACAC) Senior Track And Field Championships. This is one time I have been happy to use clichés. And Kyle Greaux's 200 metres victory Sunday at the NACAC meet prompted in me a trip down a path I've travelled more than once before in this space.
