Ahye snares Italian silverKwame Laurence :: Trinidad Express :: Trinidad Express :: 23.08.2018Michelle-Lee Ahye picked up silver in the women's 100 metres dash at the Palio Citta della Quercia meet in Rovereto, Italy, yesterday. Ahye got to the line in 11.23 seconds to come out on top in a close battle for second spot. English Gardner, meanwhile, was dominant, the American winning in 11.02 to tie the meet record set by Jamaica's Christania Williams in 2016. Ahye worked hard in the second half of the race, battling her way into podium contention. The Trinidad and Tobago track star finished just ahead of Imani Lansiquot, the British sprinter bagging bronze in 11.24 seconds.
