T&T ended in the 21st spot on the 28-nation medal table and 41 overall, emerging from the inaugural Junior Pan American Games which concluded on Sunday in Cali, Colombia with two medals.

They came from long jumper Kelsey Daniel and javelin thrower Tyriq Horsford, the top performers for T&T, which was represented in seven sporting disciplines at the Under-23 Games, athletics, 3x3 basketball, boxing, canoe, cycling, triathlon, and swimming.

Topping the medal table was Brazil with a total of 163 medals - 56 gold, 49 silver, and 55 bronze. In second place was Colombia with 145 (48/34/63) and in third place was the United States with 114 (47/29/38). Mexico with 172 medals (46/78/48) and Cuba with 70 (29/19/22)rounded off the top five countries.

Daniel copped silver in the men's long jump event with his beat leap measuring 7.90 metres following up on Horsford's bronze, T&T's first medal at the Games. He placed third in the men's javelin event with 71.33m-throw.

On the final event on Sunday, Ahkeel Boyd just missed out on a medal in the men's 3x3 basketball three-point shootout competition at the Pan American courts in Cancha, placing fourth. This after advancing as the top shooter from the preliminaries.

The national basketballer scored seven baskets. Cuban Jovanka Cereijo won gold with 15, followed by Argentinian Sofia Acevedi and Mexican Herman Arvizu with eight and seven, respectively.

On Saturday night, the men's 3x3 basketball team of Boyd his twin brother Ahkeem, Jael Lewis, and Mikhail Phillip ended in eighth place overall after falling to Argentina in their final match, 22-12. This following T&T's 19-14 loss in their quarterfinal match against Chile and was also beaten by Brazil 21-12 in the Classification 5th-8th semifinal.

Diane Henderson served as Chef de mission of the TeamTTO delegation that consisted of 23 athletes (18 men, 5 women) and 17 officials.
