T&T's Jereem "The Dream" Richards crossed second in the men's 200 metres at the Pure Athletics Global Invitational in Clermont, Florida in the United States on Sunday.

The Adidas runner clocked 20.06 seconds to follow fellow clubmate USA's Noah Lyles with 19.86 to the line and finished ahead of the American brother Josephus Lyles (Adidas), who ran 20.20, his fastest-ever season opener.

Another local runner Kyle Greaux, also of Adidas, faced the starter in the event and his 21.03-clocking placed him 11th overall.

T&T sprinter Khalifa St Fort (Adidas) was also in action at the Florida meet against tough fields in the women's sprint events.

In the 100m, she was a seventh-place finisher with a time of 11.34 seconds in an event won by Twanisha Terry (Star Athletics) who was challenged by Jamaican Briana Williams (Nike), coached by T&T's Ato Boldon, for most of the dash but the US athlete pulled away to win with 10.94. Williams stayed on for second with a season-best 11.03. In third place was Maia McCoy with 11.20.

St Fort also competed in the 200m and placed fifth with 23.94. Her Adidas clubmate Ashanti Moore was a comfortable winner in the half-lap event in a time of 23.02. Track Team Germany's Lily Kaden (23.21) and Team Belgium's Camile Laus (23.63) finished second and third, respectively.
