The death in 2015 of American hurdler Joel Shankle brought back memories of seeing him win the first ever decathlon held in Trinidad-Tobago. Olympic champion Keshorn Walcott bettered his own javelin record (85.77 in 2014) no less than three times with 86.20 in Rome (4 June), 86.43 in Birmingham (7 June) and then 90.16 in Lausanne (9 July) when he joined the 90 metres club.
